Welcome to our first blog: “When you need the best”

It’s a big decision. When choosing the ideal heating/cooling method for your home there’s often a huge range of requirements to be covered - and an equally huge range of options. It seems that nearly everyone out there has their own bit of information, do’s & dont’s and general myths regarding heat pumps. It’s easy to feel over whelmed and confused at the vast amount of correct and incorrect information. Understanding our clients needs and being able to deliver for every type of situation is what we pride ourselves on here at Hartnell Coolheat - a company that is completely dedicated to… heat pumps.

Starting as a small family business in 1980, Chris Hartnell recognized a unique opportunity to establish a specialized air conditioning, heating and ventilation company.  Twenty-eight years later, the business has gone from strength to strength, growing from a relatively small business to a 50+ workforce with extensive capability in both domestic and commercial climate control.

The beauty of our company is that there are no sub-contractors; everyone you deal with throughout the process is a direct member of the Hartnell Staff. Our knowledgeable Sales Consultants offer an “obligation free site visit and quote” in which they will take the time to sit with you and answer any questions you have. They believe as much as you do, that this is an investment in your home and lifestyle and fully stand behind the product they are introducing.  Nearly everytime  we make a “home visit” we will give options for hi-walls and floor units and of course discuss the best positioning for both the indoor and outdoor units. Most importantly, if we come across an existing property that just does not suit a heat pump - we will tell you.  Our on-site Service Department provides not only breakdown and repair work but also ongoing monthly or quarterly maintenance programmes. All of our Technicians regularly attend Daikin’s technical training school to make certain we keep abreast of the latest technology and developments.

Because every person, their lifestyle and, of course, their house is different, it is essential that every location is treated individually. And we are proud to present our Daikin and Mitsubishi models for use in your home or business. As a world leader in air conditioning and the largest manufacturer of air conditioners, Daikincan be trusted to control temperature, airflow and air quality in a broad range of environments. Our equipment selections are based on Daikin models which have an operating range in heating mode down to at least minus 10ºC outside air temperature and up to 40ºC in cooling mode. This means they cope comfortably with the extremes of the Canterbury climate.

As an introduction to our company, we offer ‘Home Heating Booklets’. We have designed this book to help you assess your home’s climate needs. Are you living in a warm, dry, healthy home or one that, for a relatively small investment could be improved?  You can also catch our Sales Consultant, Graham Parker who has been recently representing Hartnell Coolheat on CTV’s “Let’s go Shopping!” , delivering his expert views on heat pump technology for viewers across the region. “This is a great forum for us. We are finding that there is still some confusion in the marketplace about how heat pump systems work and how they are most effective across a range of conditions” says Graham.
