The different types of heat pumps and technology
Posted November 17th, 2008 by HartnellBecause every person, their lifestyle and, of course, their house is different, it is essential that every location is treated individually; what works for some, won’t necessarily work for others. Here at Hartnell Coolheat, we pride ourselves on having a wide range of heat pump air conditioning to suit every climate need. Whether you are building a new property or have an existing home, we have choices available to you to ensure you and your family stay warm in Winter and cool in Summer.
Split System units: Hi-Wall ‘Inverter’ units: Daikin’s wall mounted, split system air conditioning is a great choice for those wanting a neat unit that blends unobtrusively with its surroundings. Daikin’s ‘Inverter’ models are very reliable in extremes; they work like the accelerator of a car, gently increasing or decreasing power to suit prevailing conditions. The unit reaches the desired temperature quicker and steadily maintains it without wild fluctuations. That means uninterrupted comfort and significant savings on running costs. The design of the units are compact and sleek but also have a functional appeal - the smooth surface of the flat panel models can be simply wiped clean and the flat panel easily removed for a more thorough cleaning. Daikin’s air-purifying filters and airflow systems ensure that fresh, conditioned air flows to every corner of the room. A key feature of the Daikin Hi-Wall unit is the “Intelligent Eye” which is an infrared sensor with the ability to sense movement in the room. When you are in the room the heat pump operates normally; if you leave the room for more than 20 minutes - the heat pump automatically changes to an energy saving operation. By using the intelligent eye, savings of up to 20% in cooling and 30% in heating, can be achieved.
Split System units: ‘Inverter’ Floor mounts: Daikin’s floor-standing heat pumps are compact and ideal for those wanting to position their unit at ground level. As hot air rises, floor mounted units have significant benefits. The unit features dual air outlets that diffuse warm cosy air at low floor level -where you need it most in winter. This, combined with the vertical auto swing louvres on the top air outlet, ensures uniform distribution of heated air in the room. As with the ‘Inverter’ hi-walls, the ‘Inverter’ floor mounted units work with the same ‘Inverter’ principle to ensure your unit is very reliable, even in extremes. A key feature of the Daikin floor mount is the Inverter Powerful operation which, by pushing the powerful button on the remote control gives you a boost in heating or cooling for a 20 minute period, even if the unit is already operating at high capacity. The front panel of the unit is a simple, stylish design and they can even be semi-recessed into the wall to further reduce their visibility, allowing a slimmer and neater appearance to suit most interiors. Hartnell Coolheat can also offer custom painted systems that can either coordinate with other room features or subtly blend into the background.
Ducted Systems: A Daikin ducted system can provide total air conditioned comfort throughout your new or existing home. The indoor unit is usually located in the ceiling or under the floor, with flexible duct-work distributing conditioned air through vents/distribution grilles located in chosen areas throughout the house. These grilles can be different shapes, sizes and painted to match the ceilings colour and will fit into any decor. The compressor is installed outside the home. A ducted unit gives you the flexibility of operation in two or more areas of your home. This means you can run it in the Living areas during the day and in the Bedrooms at night, providing ultimate comfort for you and your family. A key feature of a Daikin Ducted system is the increased power at start up so the desired temperature is reached faster. Humidity levels can also be dramatically reduced with the Program Dry setting. You can also use your mobile phone to control the temperatures of your home; Daikin’s i-text is the latest advance in technology which allows you to switch your air conditioning “on” or “off”, select your ideal temperature or check current settings all via text message. Daikin i-text can be easily and quickly installed to new and most existing air conditioning systems by your Daikin specialist.
Multi Split Systems: A Daikin Multi-Split system can air condition up to 9 rooms using only one outdoor unit. Multi Split Systems are ideal for situations where there is limited space for outdoor units or insufficient ceiling space for ducting. A Multi-Split system allows individual control of air conditioning in each room, optimising comfort levels and offering savings on running costs, as wastage is eliminated by only using the units in the rooms that you need to. It would be best to consult a Sales Consultant if you are thinking of installing a Multi Split system into your premises who will discuss with you the advantages and disadvantages of this system.
